Carlsbad Caverns
Created as a national park in 1923, Carlsbad Caverns contains the nation's deepest cavern at 1,597 ft. (486.8 m) and the third longest cavern in the world. Carlsbad Caverns are home to more than one million Mexican freetail bats. Trails through the cave's natural entrance will take you down more than 750 ft. Elevators to the cavern floor are available.
