Senator Pete V. Domenici (R-NM) visits ILEA-Roswell


Sen. Pete Domenici visits with delegates at the International Law Enforcement Academy-Roswell during his visit to the Academy on Monday afternoon. The current class is composed of law enforcement officials from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and El Salvador. New Mexico Tech operates the program under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. State Department.

Domenici, who sports a light beard from a holiday weekend hunting trip with his son in southeastern New Mexico, and the late Congressman Joe Skeen were instrumental in bringing ILEA to Roswell and southeastern New Mexico.

During his visit to ILEA-Roswell, the senator was briefed on the Academy’s operations by Dr. Dan Lopez, president of New Mexico Tech, and Dr. Van Romero, vice president for research and economic development at Tech.
